London Museum Docklands
Pop along to our beautiful riverside setting and step into 400 years of Docklands history – free and open to all
We're a free museum all about London's river, port and people from the 1600s through to today. All housed in an old West India Docks warehouse that once stored sugar, rum and tea.
The museum is made up of nine free galleries that explore a different moment or theme of the docks' history. Discover the lesser-known history of slavery in London, the war effort in Docklands and how Canary Wharf came to be.
There's always lots of events going on – workshops, courses, walks, talks, tours – so check out our what's on to find something for you.
Ready to visit? Here's all you need to know about visiting London Museum Docklands.
London Museum Docklands is open every day 10am – 5pm.
There's lots to see, so we recommend at least an hour for your visit.
Thanks to the Elizabeth line, we're just a short Tube ride away from central London. You'll find us a few minutes' walk from Canary Wharf and West India Quay stations.
Here's how to find us and how to get here by public transport, coach, car and bike.
