London, Sugar & Slavery enquiry day
How was London connected to the British trade in enslaved Africans? Find out in this interactive enquiry day exploring London’s role in this horrific trade and the legacy it has left on the city and society today.
Develop critical thinking and evidence-based skills as students challenge the perception that Londoners’ lives were unaffected by or scarcely contributed to the trade in enslaved Africans. Students will also draw parallels between the past and modern life, examining ethical issues that are relevant today.
The day includes a guided visit to the No. 1 Warehouse and London, Sugar & Slavery galleries.
