Visiting
London Museum Docklands is open every day 10am – 5pm.
We recommend giving yourself at least an hour for your visit. And please note that we start clearing the galleries 20 minutes before closing time.
We're closed on 24, 25 & 26 December every year. We're open as normal on 1 January (New Year's Day).
We're just a 12-minute tube ride from central London, so we're easy to get to. Here's how to get here:

No, our galleries are free and unticketed, so just turn up and we’ll be happy to welcome you.
If you'd like to visit our Mudlarks family gallery, we recommend that you book this online and in advance as it's very popular.
If you're coming as a group of 10 or more, please book your visit in advance using our online form.
Yes, we have lockers and a cloakroom for you to use.
We’re unable to allow large luggage into the museum, but our lockers are big enough to take cabin-sized luggage (24cm x 37cm x 43cm) and cost just £1 to use.
Our friendly Hosts run live gallery talks and tours every day. Please check the digital screens when you arrive or ask a member of the team for details.
Yes, you can pay using cash in our shops and cafes.
We have a fully-trained and dedicated security team who work on our sites 24/7.
We also work closely with the City of London Police and Metropolitan Police to deliver a safe and secure environment.
To keep everyone in the museum safe and to protect our collections, you and your belongings may be searched when you enter.
Please contact our security team on [email protected]with a description of the item along with your name, contact details and date of your visit.
We keep most lost items for 30 days. This doesn’t include bank cards, which are destroyed within 24 hours. High-value items like mobile phones and laptops are kept for three months.

Tickets, refunds & concessions
Your e-ticket will be sent to you from [email protected] within 24 hours. Check your junk folder if you can’t find it.
If you’ve not received it after 24 hours, please contact the Box Office on [email protected] and we will sort it.
We can offer a face value refund if you let us know at least 48 hours before the event date or exhibition slot.
If it’s less than 48 hours away, we can try and exchange the ticket.

We usually offer concessions for exhibition entry for the following:
- children (under 17)
- disabled people
- seniors (60+)
- Universal Credit recipients
