Printed Ephemera — 1910
A bird in the hand is worth two mocking-birds in the bush
Suffragette propoganda picture postcard, black and white, designed by Pamela Coleman Smith and published by the Suffrage Atelier. Refers to 'A Bird in the Hand, is worth two Mocking-Birds In The Bush' A and L.G. If you drop the conciliation bill we may do something for you in the dim and speculative future'. The Conciliation Bill is the 'Bird in the Hand'. Asquith and Lloyd George offer instead something in the dim and speculative future (i.e the possibility of an amendment to the Reform Bill).
