The Royal Hospital of St. Katherine, Regent's Park
The Masters House (or St. Katherine’s Lodge) was the residence built in 1825 for the master of St Katherine’s Hospital in Regent’s Park after the original hospital near the Tower of London was demolished to make way for St Katherine’s Dock. It was designed in a neo-gothic style by Ambrose Poynter, a pupil of John Nash who designed most of the development of Regent Street and Regent’s Park. It was damaged by bombing in the Second World War and was subsequently demolished, although other parts of the hospital remain.
