Daniel Good
Inscription in ink at bottom: 'Daniel Good as he appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday May 13th 1842'. Police were called after he was seen stealing a pair of trousers from a Pawnbrokers shop in Wandsworth High Street. They found the torso of Jane Jones in the stable of a large house in Roehampton where Good was employed as a coachman. Good fled to Tonbridge where he was apprehended a week later, working as a labourer under the same of James Connor. Charged with the murder at Roehampton. Stood trial at Bow Street. Hung at Newgate. A lithograph in the British Museum contains a key (BM: 1851,0308.294).
