Life Guards trio
Life Guards Squire Raper, Sidney Crockett and William H. Beckham pose for the camera.
Broom photographed at each of the military barracks from 1904 documenting the regiments of the Household Division - the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh together with the Household Cavalry's Life Guards and Blues and Royals. She frequently captured the camaraderie through photographs showing soldiers relaxed in front of the camera, taking many portraits of individuals and groups and selling them to the sitters as photographs and photographic postcards.
Christina Broom, trading as Mrs Albert Broom, was a pioneering professional photographer and is considered to be the UK's first woman press photographer. Broom's extensive photographic work spans the activities of the suffrage movement in London, street views, military figures and actions of the Household Division including the First World War period, sporting events and the Royal Family.
