A General View of the Remains of Bermondsey Abby, Surry
This engraving shows the ruins of Bermondsey Abbey as they appeared in 1805. The original priory was founded by French monks of the Cluniac Order in 1089. The remains of the building now lie beneath Bermondsey Square in Southwark.
