Burlington House
Bird's eye view of Burlington House, Piccadilly, seat of the Rt Hon Charles Bayle by Knyff, engraved by Kip. Looking north with figures and a horse-drawn cart and coach in the foreground. 'Burlington House in Piccadilly belonging to the Right Honourable Charles Boyle Baron of Londesburgh, and Earl of Youghall & Brandon Viscount Kynalmeacy, & Dungarvan, Earl of Corke in the king of Ireland, Chief Governour of the county of Corke, and of the Citty, and County of the Citty of Corke, Lord high Treasurer of Ireland, Lord High Steward of the Royalty of Knaresburgh in the County of York, & one of the Gentlemen of his Majesty's Bedchamber'. Only survivor of a gentleman's house designed by Sir John Denham and built in 1660s. The house was rebuilt in 1717-20. Crest on bottom centre of print.
