Entry to the Strand from Charing Cross: view past the equestrian statue of Charles I and Northumberland House down the Strand, with St Martin's in the Fields on the extreme left. Riders, carriages, idlers and children, and a hand-drawn water-spraying cart. Trafalgar Square was newly laid out at this time.
