Boot, ballet boot
These gold kid leather heeled open boots were worn by Anna Pavlova in the pas de deux Gavotte Pavlova. The Gavotte Pavlova was choreographed by Ivan Clustine to Paul Lincke’s Glow Worm in 1914. Pavlova wore an Empire line gold dress with a long train and a deep poke bonnet. This is costume is depicted in a bronze sculpture also in the museum's collection (31.81/27). Pavlova performed the role at the Golders Green Hippodrome in December 1930, her last season in London.
