Stocking
Stocking knitted in wool, diameter 1-1.5 mm, 2 ply, S spun. Knitted in the round before knitted in stocking stitch in stripes of very dark grey 10 YR 3/1, very dark brown 3/1, brown, mustard colour 4/3. Cast on at top of sock, two decreases from top and three decreases from ankle to toe, finished and tied off at toe. Condition: a few holes in places where the decreasing and increasing stitches are. Catalogue notes by Lesley O'Connell Edwards: Seems to be an extra thread in the block of stitches above the heel. Short row garter stitch heel shaping. Average tension 3.27 stitches per cm; 4 rounds per cm.
