Hat, bicorne
Military cocked hat, formerly the property of the 1st Duke of Wellington, and given to Colonel Gurwood, his military secretary, after the Duke's death.
Black wool felt with cockade plumes of white swan's feathers, sewn three together, with red dyed swan's feathers underneath. Gold lace with patriotic acorn pattern woven through.
