Toilet set
A copper alloy toilet set, on a copper alloy ring, consisting of a nail cleaner and tweezers; both are decorated with grooved lines.
Recovered from the Walbrook stream bed.
Toilet sets often include tweezers used for plucking hair (from eyebrows, the nose or ears), nails cleaners and small scoops (perhaps for removing wax from the ears). Such sets are common finds in Roman Britain and indicate how important cleanliness was to the Romano-British people.
