Hist: Although several motifs re-appear throughout the flounce, there is no clear repeat and the small, scrolling plant forms, of which it is composed, are arranged haphazardly. This suggests that it was fairly heavily repaired in the late C19 when the present lower edging and bobbin-made heading were added. Even later headings have been attached to the cut sides.
