The Heath - 11
The eleventh in the series of Andy Sewell's five year project documenting 'The Heath' in Hampstead. Water welling out of the ground forms an icy pool on the grass.
The evocative photographs made for 'The Heath' reflect acute and subtle observations of the space frequented by Londoners as an alternative to the urban surroundings.
In the introduction to his self-published photographic book of the work, Sewell writes 'I go to the Heath to be somewhere that feels natural, yet I know this is no pathless wood. The Heath is as managed as any other part of London but managed to feel wild.'
