Printed Ephemera — 1840
Queen Victoria
Print engraved with an equestrian portrait of the young Queen Victoria on horseback. The portrait is part of a series of equestrian prints published by A.Park numbered 'No29 horses'. The portrait was published on the 24th February, 1840, just a fortnight after Queen Victoria married Prince Albert. Such portraits of heroic, allegorical and historical figures would have been sold plain for colouring and tinselling at home.
