Printed Ephemera — 2011-03
Placard, protest placard
This protest placard was made for and carried in the March for the Alternative demonstration that took place in London on 26th March 2011.
The anti-cuts against public spending march, also known as the March for the Alternative was organised by the Trades Union Congress. The march through central London that culminated in a rally in Hyde Park was estimated to have attracted 250,000 protestors including union members, public sector workers and families.
The slogan on the placard is a reference to the rapper Notorious B.I.G.'s 1997 song 'Mo Money, Mo Problems.' It is also a play on Prime Minister David Cameron's 'Big Society' concept which was being opposed by the marchers.
