Royal Naval College, Greenwich
The Royal Naval College and The Queen's House taken from Greenwich Park in June 1965. The Royal Naval College was built in the site of King Henry VII's Greenwich Palace, on the banks of the River Thames. The College was built as a Hospital and was deigned by Christopher Wren and Nicholas Hawksmoor. The house which stands in the foreground is Queen's House built in 1619 by Inigo Jones and when the Hospital was being built in 1690s Queen Mary ordered that the House should still be visible from the Thames. The house is now part of Royal Museums Greenwich.
