Saturday morning cinema showings
Long queue of children waiting to enter a Saturday morning matinee at a cinema in August 1967. From the 1920s until the 1970s cinemas used to have matinee film showings for children. Ticket prices were low at around 2 1/2p and the films which were often produced by the Children's Film Foundation in black and white had an educational element.
