Marquee Vagabonds at the Marquee Club, Wardour Street
The Vagabonds singing at the Marquee Club in July 1965. The Marquee Club at 90 Wardour Street was an important music venue for the Jazz and Rhythm and Blues scene in Britain during the 1960s and 70s. The club originally opened in Oxford Street but in March 1964 it relocated to Wardour Street in the heart of vibrant Soho. The owners developed the space so that it was very similar to the previous venue even down to the recognisable striped awnings which hung behind the musicians.
