One of a pair of white linen embroidered lappets. Catalogue note by Santina Levey. Linen embroiderd lappet. Lappets are decorated with the same curving bands that form the ogee-shaped compartment on the cap back. Here they form a series of oval medallions containing alterately vases of flowers and gourds, and sprays of exotic flowers. Along the outer, curved edges of the lappets, delicate sprays of flowers bridge the curves in the bands to form compartments filled with decorative meshes. Condition: fairly good. Stained.
