Ovaltine drinks van
An Ovaltine van outside the Crystal Palace National Recreation Centre. Ovaltine is a malt extract powdered drink which is added to milk. It was developed in Switzerland and exported to Britain in 1909. Although now it is usually enjoyed as a 'bedtime' drink it was developed as a nutritious vitamin enriched food supplement for children. Ovaltine has a long history of sponsoring sporting events.
