Ton Up boy with his bike outside the Ace Café
Ton UP Boys were young bikers, wearing decorated leather jackets who came to the Ace Cafe in Stonebridge to listen to music on the juke box as well as to race their bikes. They represented the quintessential youth rebel culture. Races were held to see which bikers could reach the 100 miles per hour or 'the magic ton'. They readily adopted the Ace Cafe's motto 'Bikes 'N' Leather, Rock 'N' Roll Forever'.
