CND protest march
Protestor in Trafalgar Square after a CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament) protest march, April 1962. This protest was one of a series of marches known as the 'Aldermaston marches', anti nuclear weapons protests which took place at Easter in the 1950s and 1960s. This man's cap is covered in badges featuring the CND symbol which is formed from a combination of the semaphore signals for the letters N and D for Nuclear Disarmament. Wearing a badge was a sign that you supported the campaign.
