WH Smith Building
The WH Smith Building also known as Bridge House, Albert Embankment, Lambeth on the bank of the River Thames in September 1962. The WH Smith business was started by Henry Walton Smith and his wife Anna in 1792 when they opened a news vendors in Little Grosvenor Street. This building with its distinctive clock tower was the headquarters of the company as well as being one of the main distribution centres. The purpose built building was designed by architects H O Ellis and Clarke, opened in 1933 and originally housed the book binding works. The building has been demolished.
