Evening Star newspaper seller
Newspaper seller in street selling ‘The Star’ newspaper. The Star was published between 1888- 1960 and was one of a number of daily papers published. At its peak in the late 1940s over 1 million copies were purchased every day. In the 1950s the editor was Ralph McCarty. The final issue of the newspaper was published on 17th October 1960 and after this it was absorbed by rival paper ‘The Evening News’.
