Bombsite near St Paul's Cathedral
A bombsite with a view of St Paul's cathedral in the background. Bombsites like this were a sign of the damage inflicted on London during the Blitz of World War Two. Many children in the post war period grew up playing on these sites. By the late 1960s they had largely been redeveloped.
