Street Trader, Petticoat Lane Market, 1952
Crowds around a stall at Petticoat Lane market. A second hand clothes and goods market has been held on this site every Sunday since the 1700s. The road was originally named Petticoat Lane hence the market’s name but in the 1830s it was renamed Middlesex Street.
