Childrens sleeping at the Gipsy Hill Day Nursery
Children sleeping outsideon small beds at the Gipsy Hill day nursery. The fresh air and and afterrnoon nap was thought to be good for the children. The nursery was open from 7.30am – 6.30pm and due to its popularity was exclusively for use by working mothers. 76 children were on the register in May 1951.
