Handkerchief, fichu
Fichu or half kerchief/triangular shawl. Fine white cotton lawn with white thread raised embroidery and drawn threadwork fillings; all inside borders are edged with embroidery too. Top outside border has row of drawn thread work above the embroidery and then a finely scalloped and embroidered edge. The other two edges have plain drawn thread work border above the inside border's embroidery. Border of repeat sprigs, compact large corner spray and repeat drawn fillings suggest 1820s date. Lace border missing from shorter edges.
