Archaeology — 1810-1900
Plate
This fragment from a transfer-printed whiteware plate was found on an archaeological excavation in Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens. The rim is moulded with the letters 'ALBERT E'. The letters 'SE SOLDIER' are printed in black towards the centre of the plate. There would have been a decorative scene underneath the wording but that is now missing. This was probably a commemorative plate of some kind.
