Saucer
This fragment from a porcelain saucer was found on an archaeological excavation in Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens. The saucer is decorated in the Imari style with flowers and birds in blue and red, with touches of gold painted over the top. Imari was a type of Chinese porcelain which was made from about 1680 onwards. It was later imitated by European and British porcelain factories.
