Bowl
This base of a transfer-printed whiteware bowl was found on an archaeological excavation in Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens. The bowl is decorated with a transfer printed stipple and line design in blue showing a couple walking through ornamental gardens with a stately home in the background. The scene could represent somewhere in Europe, possibly Italy or Greece. It is likely to be a wash bowl, which would have been kept in the bedroom for washing the face and hands. The underneath is markd 'Laconia'.
