Museum in Docklands — 1938
Letter
Letter head of the Mazawattee Tea Co Ltd, dated July 1938, The Mazawattee Tea Co was founded in the 1870s in London, though it only adopted that name in the 1880s. The Company led the way in advertising techniques, being one of the first to establish a brand image, and they also specialized in Ceylon tea. The firm suffered from the economic down turn after the turn of the century, and suffered heavily because of WWII bomb damage to its offices on Tower Hill and its factory at New cross. The firm folded in the late 1950s.
