Negative, acetate
Boys playing outside the Jamme Masjid Mosque in Brick Lane. Formerly Spitalfields Great Synagogue, this building was converted in 1976 to serve the religious needs of the local Bengali population. Margaret Macdonald was an art teacher who took up photography and became interested in the Spitalfields area. These photographs focus mostly on street scenes that record the neighbourhood’s local businesses and diverse community.
