Cylinder, phonograph cylinder
The handwritten description on this wax phonograph cylinder's box reads "Angels from the Realms of Glory / Wish you a Merry Christmas at the end / Sung at the Oaks 25/12/02 1902 by the whole family".
This recording was made by Cromwell Wall (1866-1937) on Christmas Day 1902. Cromwell (with a beard) is standing on the left of the back row in the attached photograph which was taken of the extended Wall family at his parents' home 'The Oaks' in Galley Lane Ridge, Barnet.
