Protest outside Centre Point, Central London
In January 1974 campaginers for the homeless in London occupied the Centre Point building to highlight the housing crisis in the city.
They argued that the 35-storey building, which remained empty for a number of years after it was erected, should be used to relieve London's homeless problem. The occupation lasted several days and in this photograph a man can be seen highlighted the number of vacant houses in the captial.
In the background is the huge glass and concrete structure of Centre Point, which was built between 1962 and 1964.
