Hot dog vendor selling pies
In this photograph men and women are shown queuing up by a hot-dog vendor who has parked a van outside a stadium. This vendor is selling fast food such as hotdogs and pies to customers. By the early 1800s pies had become popular food for spectators at football games because they were warming yet inexpensive. Vendors originally had horse drawn carts from which they sold their food however by the 1970s catering vans such as the one depicted in this photograph were a common site.
