Shoe
A pair of black women’s Utility shoes cost 36 shillings and seven coupons from Lilley and Skinner in 1945. This court style shoe has a W-shaped semi-brouge detail punched into the leather on the toe and the small bow has matching punched leather detail. The soles are made from leather and the heels are tipped with rubber, the CC41 Utility mark is on the outer sole. The marker’s mark of ‘Brevitt’ has been stamped in gold on the inner soles, Brevitt Shoes were a London based manufacturer trading from Old Bond Street, W1.
