Dolls' house furnishing, miniature plate
This miniature plate is taken from the kitchen of the dolls' house originally owned by Lady Anne Blackett. Parents would sometimes use dolls' houses to prepare their children for domestic life. Lady Blackett may have used it to educate her daughter, also named Anne, in how to run a country household. She may also have demonstrated proper table etiquette using the miniature dining utensils. A wealthy family like the Blacketts would probably have owned a fine silver dining set.
