Hat
Woman's un-dyed palm straw hat with a broad wrinkled and curved brim, curved upwards at the front. The crown is similarly shaped. The brim is festooned with a bundle of straight, un-plaited straw/raffia: kept in place by a black velvet ribbon, which is coiled around. The front of the hat is decorated with artificial small deep pink roses and two black feathers. Lined with black silk chiffon. Good condition.
Catalogue information from Veronica Main: Construction - woven hood made from a vegetable material (palm). Could be European production. Trimmed with strands of raffia. Professionally made. Summer wear.
