Moulin a Sucre
'Moulin a Sucre' anotated illustration from a book of a sugar cane mill, possibly after Samuel Bellin, numbered Tom. XV, No VI., probably in the Caribbean in Guadeloupe, Martinique or Saint-Domingue. Key text reads: A. Chassis avec les Tambours, B. Poteaux, C. Sabliere, D. Les Forces, E. L'Entrait, F. Les Chevrons, G. Les Coyaux, H. L'Enrayeure, L. Le Poinçon, M. La Damoiselle, N. Bras de Moulin, O. Chevaux qui tirent le Moulin. Black workers bring sugar cane to the mill for crushing; horses turn the mill drums.
