Social History — 1980-1988
Badge, lapel badge
This badge features the pink triangle emblem, a reference to the cloth badges that homosexual prisoners were forced to wear in Nazi concentration camps. The pink triangle has become a symbol of gay and lesbian opposition to prejudice and intolerance. During the 1970s and 1980s members of the gay rights movement were also involved in campaigning against racism and the rise of the far right National Front.
