The Politics of Homosexuality
This booklet entitled 'The Politics of Homosexuality' by Don Milligan was published by Pluto Press in 1973 during the early years of the gay liberation movement. It opens by recounting the rise of gay activism dating from the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York. The author contends that the oppression of homosexuals is a direct result of the capitalist system, which should be abolished. He calls for an end to discrimination against homosexuals, the elimination of restrictions on gay people bringing up children, and an end to exclusively heterosexual sex education in schools.
