Daily Sketch newspaper dated 9th June 1913, the day following the death of Emily Wilding Davison. The headline states 'Death of Emily Davison, who stopped the King's Derby Horse, and is the first woman to give her life for Votes for Women' Below are printed four images - three of Emily and one showing her on the ground at Epsom. A diagram also shows how fast the King's horse was running when it hit Emily. The Derby had taken place on 4th June but Emily did not die until four days later. Having sustained serious head injuries when she ran onto the race course in front of the king's horse she never regained consciousness and died in Epsom Cottage Hospital on 8th June.
