African-Caribbean funeral, Kensal Green Cemetery
An African-Caribbean woman lays a floral wreath on to a grave just after burial at Kensal Green Graveyard, 1988. This 72-acre garden cemetery, one of London's first, was founded in 1832. Notable people buried here include engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, mathematician Charles Babbage and novelists Wilkie Collins, Anthony Trollope and W M Thackeray. The cemetery has some 140 Grade 1, Grade 2* and Grade 2 listed buildings and monuments.
