Canary Wharf from Surrey Docks
A view of Canary Wharf and West Ferry Circus under development from across the Thames at Rotherhithe, 1991. Canary Wharf, with its controversial tower designed by Cesar Pelli, was the flagship of the 1980s redevelopment boom in Docklands. From the series 'London After Dark', through which Delaney documented London's streets on a personal exploration of the city. Delaney's choice of architecture and urban landscapes are lit in high contrast by the moonlight and available artificial light on the street and from interiors.
