'Mods' try on Beatle boots at Annello and David, Drury Lane
A group of youths trying on 'Beatle boots' at Anello and Davide's shop in Drury Lane, 1965. Beatle boots are tight-fitting, Cuban-heeled, ankle-high boots with a sharp pointed toe, made popular in the early 1960s by the Beatles pop group. John Lennon and Paul McCartney commissioned Anello and Davide to modify four pairs of Chelsea boots by adding Cuban heels for The Beatles in 1961, thus starting the fashion.
