Millwall Lead Works, Isle of Dogs
Millwall Lead Works, Locke's Wharf, Westferry Road, Isle of Dogs, c. 1935. The lead extracted here was principally used in the manufacture of paint. The original 19th century furnace chimney shaft, as seen here, was 240 ft high, the tallest ever erected on the Isle of Dogs.
